THE GREAT GLOBAL WARMING DEBATE
Is man responsible for climate change?
Some contend the debate is over and science has found conclusively that man-made carbon dioxide gases are causing the planet to heat up. Others say the slight increase in temperatures is cyclical -- having more to do with the sun's activities than anything man could do on Earth. Where do you stand? And from where do you find evidence to support your position?

global warming NOT!

Give me a call when you get back from fantasyland! Reply to: susannadanna It used to be that "Conservatives" were "Conservationists" as well. After all, a conservative believes that some things (not all) are WORTH conserving: Air, Water, and Topsoil are vital to our EXISTENCE. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are vital to our NATIONAL EXISTENCE.
Not every scientific discovery is a "plot." DDT, a potent carcinogen, really WAS destroying many species and accumulating in our own, human fat tissue. Personally, I preferred that we develop alternatives to DDT, because it'd be a national disgrace to render ANY more species extinct--but our NATIONAL SYMBOL??!! The Bald Eagle?! When OTHER options could be found??!! Our incessant pressures on wildlife habitats are equally destructive, and are the product of human sin and ignorance.
In Genesis, God saw all that He created and "behold, it was very good." Notice the word "all." He didn't single out us humans. If we humans TRULY love God, then we desperately need to see as He sees, honor what He alone could ever create, and protect what He regards as "very good."
Sure, climate changed in the past without human "help." But when, in the course of history, has a species declined to use the perfectly good legs God gave it, and instead, climbed into 2 tons of metal and plastic, powered by the energy-equivalent of TWO-HUNDRED AND FIFTY HORSES, in order to roll a block away, and roll back home with a 12 oz. jar of mustard? And that's putting it mildly.
OF COURSE, our human activity is contributing to global warming! Good grief, in the 1950's in my home town, it was 10 degrees hotter than it was nine miles away in the countryside! I'll never forget how unlivably hot the nights got in my own bedroom, after our nextdoor neighbor's house, trees and grass were replaced with an asphalt parking lot for Southern Bell. This was before air-conditioning, in the Deep South. After three, sweat-drenched, sleepless nights, I stole a cigarette from my uncle's carton and smoked it just for the privilege of getting so dizzy I could pass out. This self-medication worked, but I've battled a lifelong cigarette habit ever since, and it originated with the intolerable heat of that pavement.
You may say, "That's just anecdotal evidence." Yes, it is, and I was dealing with only one small lot worth of asphalt. Today, the number of vehicles, streets, highways, and parking lots has exploded exponentially, and everyone runs air-conditioners on top of it all! The electric lights of our megalopoles are visible from space. We don't even construct sidewalks any more! People live 50-and-more miles from their daily work commute, and there's NO space left for children to run, climb trees, and play all day. Our fat, pasty-faced children don't have "A.D.D." They just don't have the OUTDOORS any more. They're trapped inside, watching a damned T.V. that has A.D.D.! (I challenge you to count the number of screen changes in a typical "entertainment news" show. It's BEYOND frenetic.)
ABSOLUTELY, we humans have contributed to global warming, and do--every minute of every day. It's unconscionably irresponsible--or just plain stupid--for human beings to deny that they can create such a mess. We CAN, and we HAVE.
Perhaps, it's too late. Perhaps, only GOD can do a miracle and fix it. But as long as He's placed *US* in authority over our planet, I'm doing everything I can to make responsible changes on an individual level, and to urge other Americans to do likewise.

NO,
Al Gore the U.N and george soros are to blame for this scam which is designed to STEAL money from the American people.
If you believe ozone al's snake oil charade then you deserve to have your money stolen from you! Reply to: Born.Again.American Al Gore and the rest of his phony scientific friends have built the greatest scare tatic in all of the history of man kind. So much so that they now a socislist extreme left wing as president, and the control of the house and senate to now stand the presipice of launching the largest tax increase in the history of the United States and in all of the free world economies. The global warming tax, or funded inicative will force on all person and business a production tax based upon your presumed impact on the world and its climate. Again I say, before this becomes the law of the land, contact those who to work for "We the People" and demand they stop this maddness. I they continue to have a deaf ear to your concerns, show them your power, Cap & Trade Congress as the new slogan goes.In 2010 we need only 35 seats returned to the GOP or Independent party's. Your vote can restore common sense to the Hill, and stop the maddness for the then remaining two years of the usurpers term. Get out and vote tell everyone you know to do the same, for the future of the country depends upon it. 35 people stand between us and our freedoms, between us, and our freedom from over taxation.
Global warming is junk science at its best. Vote out 35 in 2010 or we are lost.

When it comes down to it, insects DO need protection, far more than many other species which are currently under environmental protection. Insects are effected more by climate change, chemical composition change, and pH imbalances than most other animals. While global warming may not be happening, humans are responsible for many other damages to the earth, such as habitat destruction and pollution.
Insects in particular need to be protected because they help humans in numerous ways. Without insects, many other species would die since they depend on insects as their main food source, insects also provide pollination and pest control for agriculture. It is estimated insects provide over $57 billion in services to the US alone. Reply to: Ruler4You The EPA and the ESA aren't about 'protecting' the environment or species. It's about government control over business and society.
It won't be long and you will see protections for insects. When that begins we will all be in real trouble.

Man made "global warming" is an invention stemming from the USSR. The plan was to blame private sector for causing a possible catastrophe although through out history there has been indeed climate change over the existence of the world due to solar effects and not from man. This is used only to grab power, money and influence over the private sector.
The media has happily run with this as they derive influence perpetuating this, scientists throw out objectivity and real findings as they are funded by the left to make the claim even though their findings are inaccurate. Scientist that use true science and are objective are dismissed when truly the can disprove all the allegations.
Follow the money. Not only the money but the power and it will show you why they are bent on the biggest hoax of mankind so far. Sorry to say it has so far worked well as many believe this untruth.
Al Gore is not stupid he knows it is garbage. He is so hungry for influence and this is his reason for leading the pack.

People need to wake up to the absolute greed that drives our leaders.
They stay awake at night designing new ways to get into the pockets of the American people.
If they had taken all the bailout money that was handed out from Bush and Obama and gave that to the American people what a far different picture we'd have today!
This nation would be florishing with home ownership, business and education.
What they have given instead are tent cities and bankruptcy.
They have created this mess deliberately to gain power and control over every man, woman and child.
They will not rest until they have EVERYTHING
They take and take.
What a fantastic idea! To take control and have all power and make the American people pay for it.
If we had any clue whatsoever of the long range plans our leaders have for us, it might literally scare us to death.
The American people need to rise up against main stream media and our crooked leaders, for these people don't have a conscience nor a duty to this country.
We have been invaded by an elitist group, whom our forefather fought against.
The American people for decades have sat back allowing freedoms to be taken.
Sadly we have been spoon fed the idea that our leaders are God fearing Christians.
To make matters worse, Christian leaders in our nation unwittingly have been used to further their agenda.
How many God fearing Christians do you know of that would be comfortable going to Bohemian grove to worship a pagan deity?
WAKE UP AMERICA, For these attend a ritual of sacrifice called the cremation of care.
This is a horrid evil, practiced by those who lead us, and yet we sit back and wonder, lying to ourselves about their love for the american people and our nation.
Nothing could be further from the truth.

First the progressives preached "global cooling." When cooling didn't pan out they preached ”global warming." When warming came under suspicion they combined the two scenarios into a grand unified theory and called it "climate change." The really cool thing about the grand unified theory is that it’s such a hot idea. Be it Cool or be it Hot, the Earth remains in crisis.

I am amazed at the utter stupidity of grown men but even more at the evil they can hatch up then dream up some inflated beaeutiful excuse for it so they can salve their conscience and put themselves on the back.

I'm not sure about global warming; there's just too much conflicting evidence.
But one thing is certain; the world does face serious environmental problems, and any one who denies this is a dolt. Things like pollution and deforestation etc could very well cause catastrophic situations for this planet some time in the futire . Maybe we shouldn't get hysterical about global warming. But we must not go too far in the opposite direction and foolishly assume that everything is hunky dory, either.

I think that the cause of global warming is because Hell is heating up and expanding for all those idiot's that are running our nation right now!!

You are absolutely right. Gore and his concerned scientist are an absolute fraud! The earth has previously gone thru warming cycles. The previous hot cycles occured when there were few people and no cars or industry. Yes our planet is heating up, but it is a normal cycle and soon we will be entering a new Ice age. I would like to challenge our scientific community to find out what is really causing these heating and cooling cycles! Also the Gore types are saying that half our glaciers have melted and that the melting of glaciers will cause massive flooding. If half the Glaciers have melted, why is the water level along side the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn, NY, USA at the samne level that I remember 60 years ago as a young child of ten years of age?. By now the water level should have risen 10's of feet!.
